The Labradoodle is a fine hybrid dog made from the Labrador and the Poodle which was started in 1989. They make wonderful pets for families and they get along with other pets as well. The Royal Guide Dogs Association of Australia was trying to breed these two dogs together to get the best out of both breeds. This did not work as well as expected. Some dogs were more like Poodles and some like Labradors. The Breeders were trying for the less shedding and non-allergenic dogs, but some were even worse for clients and had to be returned. They gave up this plan and stopped breeding in 2007 and I believe the last dog was given in 2010.
